Stop by the Nectar Lounge on April 1 for a benefit for the Barack Obama campaign.

The fundraiser features Seattle electronica DJs Dig Dug, Slantooth , FUTUREdub (featuring Shapeshifter and Contents) and Vendetta Kane spinning breaks, drum ‘n bass, dubstep and hip hop, plus Laura “Piece” Kelley of the Block Teamsters Union and Verbal Oasis.

Show up early to bid on silent auction items including lift tickets from Whistler Blackcomb, hoodies and tees from Barackawear and more.

Doors at 8. The suggested donation at the door is $7 but feel free to contribute more!

Event promoter Karen Johanson is one of Washington state’s many Obama delegates. The event is part of her fundraising efforts designed to help Obama win remaining primaries and  caucuses, especially the Pennsylvania primary on April 22, where 188 Democratic delegates are up for grabs.

Press release: Comedy for a Cause benefit for the Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis

Experience the comedic talents of Seattle comedian Barbara Sehr and others in a February 12 benefit for the Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis at the Comedy Underground.

Ticket are $12 at the door or $10 through Brown Paper Tickets.

Proceeds go directly to the fundraising pool for Team Torellian, a group that will be snowboarding on February 23 in the Vertical Express benefit to raise money for for the Heuga Center, a nonprofit that sponsors programs to help people with MS and their medical professionals minimize the impact of MS and maximize their quality of life. Team Torellian has a goal of raising $7500 for the Heuga Center.

Stop by the Nectar Lounge on May 10 for beats for a cause – DJs spinning at a benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Seattle photographer Karen Johanson expects to pedal for hours, at almost-mile-high elevation, to complete America’s Most Beautiful Ride, a 100-mile, one-day bike ride around Lake Tahoe benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Her challenge is one faced by every participant in Team in Training, a program that encourages people to train for events ranging from century cycling events to marathons and triathlons, to raise money for research, patient services, education and more. For the Tahoe event, participants are required to raise $4000 in a four-month timeframe. This event is part of her fundraising efforts.

The fundraiser features Seattle electronica DJs Slantooth and Ted Lee plus other Northwest talent still to be confirmed. Doors open at 8. Cover is $5 and all proceeds from the door (beyond a nominal fee to the club) go directly to Karen Johanson’s fundraising campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
